Dear exhibitors and Collie lovers,

I had the fun and joy to judge your dogs from all the lovely photos and videos you sent to Alex and Maria Teresa.
They did a super job in organizing this event with the intention, to keep Collie people together in this awful situation we all have to pass.
You must know that judging from photos and videos is really difficult, in fact, it is much more difficult than I thought.
What I can give you is more a general impression of your dogs, for what I can see on pictures.
It cannot be as technical as it would be when I can actually touch the dog in the ring.
I only can judge what I see in that tiny moment you captured on the photo. One of the main problems was dogs not standing well in front (or rear) on the photos.
I only have this to judge from and cannot see if the front or rear is really bad.
So lots of dogs got less points for “front and neck”, although they had good necks and maybe in real life the front is good.
I want to give everybody the advice, if you show your dog on a photo for any reason, take your time.
Place them correctly in all parts, take as many photos as necessary.
One bad photo can ruin the image of a really good dog.
Some dogs in this competition for sure could get better points with better photos – so go on training and learn from the results.
Anyhow I loved and enjoyed to judge those wonderful Collies, and I hope you all had some fun, too.
Some of the efforts done by the exhibitors, showing their dogs in tiny gardens, living rooms or whatever space they actually have, were so touching, nearly bringing me to tears.
I was very very pleased and honoured to be chosen as a judge for that virtual show during this worldwide horrible time.

Cari Espositori ed Amanti del Collie,

Ho avuto il divertimento e la gioia di giudicare i vostri cani da tutte le belle foto e i video che avete inviato ad Alex e Maria Teresa.
Hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro nell’organizzare questo evento con l’intenzione di tenere unite le persone amanti dei Collies in questa terribile situazione che tutti noi dobbiamo superare.
Dovete sapere che a giudicare da una foto e da un video è davvero difficile, infatti, è molto più difficile di quanto pensassi.
Quello che posso darvi è più un’impressione generale dei vostri cani, per quello che posso vedere nelle foto.
Il giudizio non può essere tecnico come lo sarebbe quando posso davvero toccare il cane sul ring.
Posso solo giudicare ciò che vedo in quel preciso momento che hai catturato con la fotografia.
Uno dei problemi principali era che i cani non erano ben piazzati davanti (o dietro) nelle foto.
Avendo solo questo materiale da cui giudicare e non sono riuscita a vedere se la parte anteriore o posteriore è piazzata male (dovuta alla fotografia nel momento sbagliato) oppure se è un piccolo difetto.
Quindi molti cani hanno ottenuto meno punti per “fronte e collo”, anche se avevano un buon collo e forse nella vita reale l‘anteriore è buono.
Voglio dare a tutti un consiglio: se mostrate il vostro cane in una foto per qualsiasi motivo, prendetevi il vostro tempo.
Posizionali correttamente in tutte le parti, scattate tutte le foto necessarie.
Una brutta foto può rovinare l’immagine di un cane davvero bello.
Alcuni cani in questa competizione potrebbero sicuramente ottenere punti migliori con foto migliori, quindi continua ad allenarti e impara dai risultati.
Ad ogni modo, ho adorato e mi sono davvero divertita a giudicare quei meravigliosi Collies e spero che anche tutti voi vi siate divertiti.
Alcuni degli sforzi compiuti dagli espositori, mostrando i loro cani in minuscoli giardini, salotti o qualunque spazio abbiano effettivamente, sono stati così toccanti, che mi hanno quasi portato alle lacrime.
Sono stata molto contenta e onorata di essere stata scelta come giudice per questo Show Virtuale durante questo periodo orribile in tutto il mondo.
